Ordered an LE and a TE came in.....

Are you going to take it off road? Going to lift it?

If yes, AND the trail has KDSS, I would get the trail. (only reason the trail is more desirable IMHO. You can add a locker and skid plates to an sr5...)

If no (or very limited off road), stick with the blingy ride. I am pretty sure you will be happy with it.

If I were doing it again, I might go for the limited over the trail. Though, call me crazy, but I don't like leather seats. :wow: That and I will take mine off road....someday :ybrick:

Seems to me if you'd wanted a TE, you'd have ordered one.

You're going to drive this a long time, get the one you wanted, even if it's more wait.

The TE may be popular on here, but it's certainly not for everyone.

LE FTW! You chose it for a reason, and I would hate to see a thread where you have buyer's remorse. To me, it sounds like you're trying to justify reasons why the TE now fits your needs.

Well this is a quandry, Getting rid of my FJ and got my mind wrapped around the idea of the LE (especially when I looked into a TE and found out I'd be better off trying to get an alien anal probe).
My LE was supposed to hit port 8/29 and been waiting patiently. Called today and got a message back the Owner would call me later (?) I see no Black LE on the lot but a TE is sitting there "just arrived" Black.
Hmmm, decisions decisions.....TE would be about $5k less as well.
I dunno.

I have a TE and couldn't be happier. It came with rear locker and KDSS. I miss the auto climate control of the LTD, but I can deal with not being able to set and forget the temperature. I like the TE seats better than the leather in the LTD, and don't really need heated seats. I do wish I had the LTD full time 4WD, but I get by without it. Having the multi-terrain select is nice, as is the crawl control. All in all, I would say of you are going off-road a lot, do the TE, if not, go for the LTD.

Well, might as well just buy them both. Bet you will get a good deal!:trophy:

If you haven't already, put it all down on paper- good and bad. That should give you the big picture. Good luck.

Going to be a more difficult choice than I imagined, I have my leanings but Both are great choices.

Or- stick with the LE and get the stealership to drop $2k for your troubles

........Or-stick with the LE and get the dealership to throw in the $2k worth of TE plastic exterior parts. Worked for me, as a TE came in a week before my LE when I had mine ordered too and had my brain spinning and wallet out and the new car fever just about had me.

If you have a VIN number the sales manager should know exactly where the one you ordered is. My LE was stuck at port and the TE just came off the boat first and was on a truck first.
Whatever you do I suggest test driving both and then make your decision.

Not trying to be a buzz kill here, (I am sure you head is buzzing enough right now), but aren't you assuming that TE is not already spoken for? Could be somebody else's, no?

Don't look back and regret a rash decision. As others have said, you obviously wanted an LE, so why now is a TE in front of you going to change your mind?

Unless they are prepared to significantly make it REALLY worth your while (mucho $$$$$$$ off, too good of a deal to turn away-which I doubt) then there is not much more to talk about. My opinion-good luck whatever you decide.

No, that's cool. I checked. It was a mix up and somehow BOTH got earmarked for me. That could be viewed as a blessing or a curse for whoever is involved.
I now have a choice to make only 24-48 hrs apart from arrival.
The Dealer will be left with one to sell (they are both '12s) at a time when '13s are inbound.
Is what it is.....
I don't want to portray this as anything other than what it is - a nuisance. There are real problems, this isn't one of them.

I say wait for the Limited. You get the Torsen Center diff. All of those knobs can be recreated with a steady and controlled skinny pedal. And like Harper7 said, if you want the look of a TE well then convert it. Rear diff locker? Add the ARBs front and rear.

But in the end it is your choice.

And a pre-emptive welcome to the 5th Gen family.

:welcome::hello:

Just observing your log in name......
"Rubicon".....you like the best that Jeep Wrangler has to offer.
"SS"......you like the best that Chevrolet has to offer.
Sounds like to complete the pattern here is to get the LE.
Would love to see pics of the final decision. Good luck. :thumb3:

Man I feel your pain. Stopped by my dealer today and he had a black AND a silver TE. Couldn't find one when I shopped 3 months ago.

Not too horrible a dilemma for you..........both are really nice. I checked out a magnetic gray LE and it was sharp.

Did you stop by the one in Cool Springs? If so, they're both mine! Not really. But I've seen them, too, and I've been watching for months and haven't seen a single one until now.

Incredibly helpful contributions - Thanks for the help.
Slept on it, Love them both. Going to stay the course with the LE.
The things I like about the TE - I can transform the LE into.
Thanks again.
