Maybe people had better luck with Eastwood products then I did. Still rusted underneath it. However, we are talking northeast salt belt area for my rigs. So rust is extremely heavy and extremely scaly.They make this frame coating in a can with a special nozzle on a tube. You can feed it into the frame rails and spray all over!
Found it, it's made by Eastwood. I used it a while back to fix some rust spots on the inside of that tube on the back of the frame. The one that holds the rear spring seats.

I wonder if that would trap stuff? I was thinking about jamming a leaf blower into one of the frame openings in the back with the rear bumper removed. Thought it may be good to blow any dirt out before applying anything

Or use a garden hose poked up the back. I do mine 1-2 times a year. A huge amount of dirt builds up right where the rear lower control arm bracket attaches in the curve there. No coincidence this is where they rust out either.
Life in the northeast, the battle against rust continues........placed an order for this Pro Kit yesterday.
After lots of research decided to give Woolmax a try. Also picked up a gallon of Fluid Film but will try out the Woolmax this season.
After speaking with people who have used both they switched to the Woolmax as a bit thicker so less overspray and they thought it held up through the winter a bit better than FF.
Both seem like great products and I suspect either will help keep the rust at bay.
If anyone thinking to buy this stuff skip Amazon and go directly to Kellsport Products website as priced lower and great service.

Yes. I do I remove all the holes in the frames as a repair them. I do it by welding in internal steel plates and weld the holes shut. It's the source of the internal frame rot.
Excellent thought on plugs. I never found ones that work. Rubber or silicone ones would be the best or something oil resistant.
I am surprised the aftermarket or someone hasn't made plugs for our frames.

So...what if you cleaned out the frame rails, applied a new coating, and the just literally pumped them full of cosmoline? That shit is so thick it last for decades. It kept my mosin rust free for 70+ years so I'm sure it would work for our trucks

Yes, That is my next move if my FF and Corroseal do not work. I was only staying away from Cosmoline because of its costs and I didn't feel like pumping a frame full of it.
My plating via inside and sealing the frame rail holes are making significant improvements.
The reason of FF inside is that it can flow and will even wick vertically. Cosmoline will not do this as its too heavy and think.
Another excellent coating would be liquid bees wax as well.

I personally don't want to use anything too thick and heavy inside the frame. Anything thick and sticky will collect and hold dirt in there. I know Brillo you are plugging the holes so maybe in your case it would work.
I have had good luck with a lighter spray (FF or wd40) inside the frame along with seasonally blasting the frame internals out with a garden hose. Keeps it nice and clean in there and nothing to trap moisture.
I think the cleaning is the most important part of the plan. I'm pretty sure most people don't appreciate the amount of dirt that builds up in the frame. Once the bottom drain holes plug, the dirt just keeps building up.

Yeah but I'm talking about some seriously thick ass grease, this stuff is nuts. Just fill the frame rails so it's nigh impossible for crap to get in there to start. And even if it does, cosmoline inhibits rust I believe.

Its interesting what they look like inside. The South should be slight if any surface rust. Rust belt areas are a completely different story as you see from us that live in those areas. My arch photo on this thread shows what happens if the owners just drive them and do nothing.

Alright so the camera was a bit old and I couldn't see shit inside....
But I from just looking with a flash light, it looks black inside. Don't see any rust.

Get your finger inside the square holes and feel the condition of the bottom, especially near the rear lower control arm mount. That'll be the place to find it if you have it.
