Has anyone received updated hardware or is everyone just accepting the bolts that are too short.
I just installed a set on a 2023 and the factory cross bar bolts are too short on the outside. From order to delivery was less than a week. So off to get a couple longer bolts.
It comes with new bolts
The factory hardware is fine if you are not reusing the crossbars. My C4 skids required removal of the crossbars. I think they overlooked that not everyone removes them, especially if they don’t have skids. They need to quickly update the length on these fasteners so that customers don’t have to run to the hardware store.I just installed them. The factory bolts for the outside cross bar are too short after installation.

Top bolt is replacement, bottom bolt is factory.
Trying to make the picture smaller. lol.
Installation bolts included. Delivered a couple weeks ago.
Of course it came with bolts. I am saying the FACTORY BOLTS are too short once the shield is installed. Did you think I went out and bought all the bolts to install them? Have you installed them yet to find out that with the crossbar they may be to short?
@%1;
So you say "FACTORY" you mean Caliraised or Toyota? Factory means Toyota to me everything else to "Aftermarket"
A recent post from someone on the other forum:i think you are right. Im getting a vibration transmitted to the steering wheel that comes and goes.
Knowing caliraised and their BS, they probably will say this is a design feature by their "engineers".
A recent post from someone on the other forum:
“I installed my cat shields over the weekend. Prior to installing the driver side shield, I trimmed the corner off the tab where the bolts go (as shown in a photo earlier in this thread) to provide enough room to create clearance between the cat and the shield. By pushing the shield down during install and tightening the inner bolts first, I was able to leave probably about 1/4" of clearance between cat and shield, resulting in no rattle or noise while driving.”
Thanks!
Thanks for posting the picture and Thanks for a pass on your post.I'm the poster from the other forum; no offense taken, LOL!
Here's the photo I referenced (not my photo); you trim the corner by the bolt on the left side of the photo to allow the shield to move downward before it contacts the cross-bar.

? Looking at the picture it looks like the cali shield could have been pushed up as in deeper in the slots and moving the contact edge away from the support bar.
