You could do that, but then the shield would be in contact with the catalyst heat shield and could rattle.
I understand Thanks had to ask! :thumb3:

I'm the poster from the other forum; no offense taken, LOL!
Here's the photo I referenced (not my photo); you trim the corner by the bolt on the left side of the photo to allow the shield to move downward before it contacts the cross-bar.

Tomorrow will be my 4th week… although I’m not in a rush, it’s not looking good.
C4 fab got my lo pro bumper out in less than 2 weeks… just sayin’
Got mine after catching someone just before they started cutting my cats while I was working in Philly, never thought it’d happen to me. Took 9 weeks to get mine , but I finally got them installed and they do look like they will deter a thief.
Mad props to highlander Connor MacLeod for his how-to!
Installed mine last month -- same deal as everyone else here, needed to buy better bolts to accommodate the factory braces. Then, had a GODAWFUL driver side vibration at idle and reverse. You could clearly see contact/vibration points on the steel when we took the shield back off. With Connor's trim fix, we got a good 1/4" gap between the driver side shield and cat, and smooth running since.
Seems to me like CR "engineered" these for heavier off-roaders out West with underarmor and no factory braces. Sucks to have to re-engineer 'em a bit in the garage, but when's the last time I got to use my steel hacksaw anyway?
